Singer Shawn Mc Donald’s Testimony

6 June 2009 No Comment

I recently started listening to music by Shawn Mc Donald and I’ve been encouraged by the words and music. I found his testimony and thought I’d post it. He was saved out of a life of drugs and drug dealing. I thought it was amazing that he had never picked up a guitar until after he became a Christian. It’s evidence that a transformed heart wants to sing praises to God.

Ephesians 5:18 says, “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord”.

Ephesians 3:17-19
(New Living Translation)

“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

This next video features a song that I’ve been playing over and over….and over in my car as I drive to work. I love the reminder that God’s word is a lamp unto my feet. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
