Wisdom From Psalm 119

How does someone stay pure?
v.9—-How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.

How does someone not sin?
v.11–I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

What should we ask God to do in order that we
understand his word?
v.18– Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law.

When you feel sad, what will revive you?
v.25–My soul cleaves to the dust;
Revive me according to Your word.

What does the word do when we are depressed?
v.28–My soul weeps because of grief;
Strengthen me according to Your word.

What should we ask God for when we read the bible?
v.34–Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law
And keep it with all my heart.

What will produce reverence for God?
v.38–Establish Your word to Your servant,
As that which produces reverence for You.

What can be gained from reading the word?
v.66–Teach me good discernment and knowledge,
For I believe in Your commandments.

What often drives us to read God’s word?
v.67–Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.

What good can come from hardship?
V.71–It is good for me that I was afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.

What makes us wiser than our enemies?
v.98–Your commandments make me wiser than my
enemies, for they are ever mine.

What gives us understanding?
v.104-From Your precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way.

What lights our way?
v.105-Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

What makes a simple person someone
Who has understanding?
v.130- The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple.
