Before the Throne of God

I love this beautiful hymn written by Charitie Bancroft. “Before the throne” was originally written in 1863 under the title, “The Advocate”. This hymn does speak of the advocate we have in Christ through trials, so and it’s one of my favorites.

I love this song by Jeremy Camp because it is a reminder that no matter how hard the trials in life become, there will be a day that the trials will end and we will see Jesus face to face.

There is a Higher Throne

1 Peter 1:3-4
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you”

A long time ago I read the book, “No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green” and I was encouraged and inspired by his passionate love for Christ and his enduring faith. He had a heart for sharing the gospel with others and his music was truly from his heart. Many have been been convicted and strengthened by Keith Green’s music.

The Power of the Cross

The power of the cross is that Christ’s sacrifice frees us from the penalty of sin and from the slavery of sin. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ and believe in Him, He changes the heart and transforms the sinner into a new person. Understanding what Jesus did for us on the cross is the first step towards the path of salvation.

Beauty From Ashes

I saw something the other day that amazed me. I was driving on the freeway and passed by a span of mountains that had been burned black by a fire awhile back. The trees looked barren and the branches held no leaves. But what amazed me was that the beauty of spring had touched this mountain and green grass was beginning to cover the blackness of the soil. The contrast of the black and the green was quite staggering and it really was a lovely site to see. It reminded me that the difficulties in life can often be like the fire that burned that mountain.

I love to listen to Christian testimonies, and hear how God has completely changed the life of someone who was once walking in darkness, but now walks in light. When someone places their faith in Jesus Christ and repents of sin, God does amazing things in that person’s life. It is a work in progress, but you can immediately see that the person has a new desire to love God and live for Him.
I love this song by Phil Joel because it shows how a Christian is truly changed.

God of Wonders

Have you looked up at the starry sky lately? The bright lights contrasted by the blackness of night is truly amazing. Our nearest star system is Alpha Centauri, and it is 4.35 light years away. That is the closet star system….yet there are so many other stars beyond our reach or knowledge. God is the creator of the nearest and farthest stars, and everything in between. By His power he created them, named them, and He knows where each one exists.

God’s Handiwork: Indescribable–Chris Tomlin

It’s hard not to see God when we look around at the world and see evidence of His creation. The vastness of the universe, the majesty of the mountains, and the fierceness of the seas, all show God’s hand at work.

Message in the Music, Testimonies »

I recently started listening to music by Shawn Mc Donald and I’ve been encouraged by the words and music. I found his testimony and thought I’d post it. He was saved out of a life of drugs and drug dealing. I thought it was amazing that he had never picked up a guitar until after he became a Christian. It’s evidence that a transformed heart wants to sing praises to God.
